• Mother Goose on the Loose

    Class Description
  • Broadway Exploration’s Mother Goose on the Loose class is an upbeat kids finger puppet class that gets toddlers playing, singing, and moving to some of their favorite nursery rhymes. Mother Goose on the Loose is designed as an interactive, play-time theatre class with a goal to introduce acting, improv and puppetry to toddlers.  Class Flow is designed by the ‘Dance to Learn!’® Curriculum with the whole child in mind and has been created around a child’s cognitive, language, social and motor development to form the 5 Methods of Dance and Performance Arts™. Each month, Dance Exploration designs the class around a new monthly theme to keep the classes fun and exciting as part of our ‘Dance to Discover!™ method. For example, our ‘Farm Animals’ theme could have us finger playing to nursery rhymes such as “Old MacDonald had a Farm” or “Baa Baa Black Sheep” or even “Hey Diddle Diddle, the Cat and the Fiddle.” Each week, the class structure remains the same with classes beginning with a warm up and stretches on the floor and slowly moving to standing as we sing and play with our finger puppets.  After warming up, we begin interactive play where we manipulate and play out different scenarios with our finger puppets. For example, if we are on a farm, we can finger play farm life and how our animals would interact. What sounds do they make? How do they move? Children are nurtured by their instructor through a positive “Yes!” environment, and the small class size ensures the personal attention needed at this stage of learning. Mother Goose on the Loose classes include participation in the Dance Exploration, LLC ‘Dance to Learn!’® at Home with Me™ Program!
