    Class Description
  • Dance Exploration, LLC’s Viral Dance class explores the popular dance videos as found on YouTube! Designed around the ‘Dance to Learn!’®  Curriculum and the 6 Methods of Dance™ , our Viral Dance Party class is designed with the whole child in mind. Each week we learn two to three new viral video dances and we will put our own class flare to each dance. The videos kids love the most are

    -Harlem Shake
    -Gagnam Style
    -What Does the Fox Say
    -Whip Nae Nae
    -Macarena
    -Thriller
    -YMCA
    and more!

By exploring a new video each week, we follow the guidelines of the ‘Dance to Discover!’™  Method, to keep class interesting and exciting and ensure children are learning as much as possible. Viral Dancers learn age appropriate movements and skills that will test their motor development as well as their spatial awareness as it pertains to the ‘Dance to Move!’™  Method. The class begins with warming up the muscles with stretches, isolations (moving one body part separately from the others), and fun rhythmic patterns and play. Exercises will focus on the video that week. Dancers will be challenged to work in groups with their peers to create their own viral dance to the song “Happy” by Pharrell Williams to incorporate the ‘Dance to Create!’™ Method. Working in groups will further develop their ability to learn manners, patience, and other important life skills as it relates to the ‘Dance to Accept!’™  Method. Each student will be encouraged to provide input on the creation of their group Viral Dance as part of the ‘Dance to Express!’™  Method.  Teachers follow a “Yes!” Environment where the children feel comfortable and safe working with both their instructor and their peers. Educators also encourage children to make the right choices and nurture their self expression. The Viral dance the groups create, will be performed at the Graduation for family and friends. Viral Dance classes include the Dance Exploration, LLC Family Engagement Program™ to continue the study of dance at home with fun games and activities the whole family can enjoy!

  • Our Teaching Method

    6 Methods of Dance™
    • 'Dance to Learn!'®

Our Preschool Program includes activities that advance each individual child’s development. Activities are focused on cognitive thinking, problem solving, social and speech development, peer relations, and motor skills.

    • 'Dance to Discover!'™

In our preschool program, we introduce a new theme each week to prevent stagnation. Themes are age and development appropriate. Children will learn new concepts to stimulate their cognitive development as well as their critical thinking and problem solving skills.

    • 'Dance to Accept!'™

Dance Exploration teaches in a positive ‘Yes’ Environment where artistry, imagination and innovations can thrive. The ‘Yes!’ Environment cannot survive with negativity or intolerance. Therefore, from day one, children are taught how to work in groups and in teams. This teaches children at a young age about peer relations. In the preschool program, emphasis will be placed on partner and small group activities, sharing, patience and waiting turns. Children will develop the ability to overcome disagreements with their classmates and develop contented relationships.

    • 'Dance to Express!'™

Dance Exploration Educators are trained to aid the students in decision making processes. When faced with dance activities where a participant’s imagination and creativity are honed, Dance Educators may demonstrate their ideas, but will always reassure and support a child who takes inventive liberty and spin on an idea. This is part of Dance Exploration’s ‘Yes’ Environment and creating a positive teaching atmosphere that fosters growth and learning potential.

    • 'Dance to Create!'™

Dance Exploration Preschool classes encourage creative development and expression. Classes allow children the opportunity to move in their own way and at their own pace allowing children to create their idea of class themes and concepts through their own dance interpretations. Teachers guide the creative process through a positive and nurturing environment.

    • 'Dance to Move!'™

Dance Exploration Educators teach progressively for mastery and success. Proper technical skill will be achieved before advancing to additional dance moves. Dance Exploration will combine locomotor and non locomotor skills in all classes to assure that the child’s gross motor skills continue to be improved upon. Skills to be measured in the Preschool Program will be balance, coordination, muscle control and muscle memory, fine motor ability, flexibility and strength.
